How have things changed for both you and your riding after winning the Play Am and competing in the Play Pro?
Since the Play contests I’ve just learned a lot. I have met so many people, and come across so many amazing new opportunities to travel and ride around the world, which is the best part of it all.
How did having the opportunity to compete in such a high profile contest help you and your drive for progression?
Competing in the Play contests gave me a lot more experience in the contest scene. I feel like a more mature rider now. I also have a better idea of what it takes to win and have fun at the same time. The main thing is keeping your nerves down, making it more fun to compete.
How did it feel to be invited to ride at Simple Session next year? I can only imagine how stoked you are to be given this opportunity!
Its a crazy feeling to be going to Simple Session. Ive been watching the live stream of it every year as far back as i can remember, and now i get to be a part of it. It will be amazing.
What are some of the goals you have for the next year? Any other contests you plan to ride in, edits you are hoping to film, or big trips you have planned?
Next year I plan on riding in a lot of bigger contests. I’m going to Simple Session 2014 in Tallinn Estonia, which should be an amazing trip. I am also planning a few trips dedicated to filming upcoming projects.
Why do you think it’s important for brands to support younger up and coming riders such as yourself?
Up and coming riders are the future of the sport and they are what keep the progression going. If you don’t support the younger riders in the scene then younger people might not have something to relate to.
Anyone who you would like to thank for helping you get to where you are today?
My Mom and Dad, Hyper Bicycles, Monster, and my family and friends who support me.
