Giannis Antetokounmpo continues to rise in the ranks of the most marketable athletes.

The Milwaukee Bucks All-Star and reigning Most Valuable Player of the NBA was recently ranked No. 6 on the 2019 World’s Most Marketable Athletes list compiled by London-based media company SportsPro. The ‘Greek Freak’ ranks above fellow NBA All-Stars Steph Curry of the Golden State Warriors (No. 38) and Joel Embiid of Philadelphia (No. 37), but is below NBA rookie Zion Williamson (No. 3), who recently signed a shoe deal with Nike’s Jordan brand.

Tennis star Naomi Osaka tops this year’s list, which is compiled according to an athlete’s marketing potential over the upcoming three-year period. SportsPro evaluates age, home market, crossover appeal, charisma and willingness to be marketed, along with using social media analytics produced by Hookit to determine how effective an athlete is at promoting a brand on social media.
