Top NFL Players With Highest Social Interactions Among Fans

June is a month for all NFL athletes to do what they please. For some, this means spending time with family and for others this means working on drills with teammates in an unorganized setting. It is also an interesting month for NFL fans because we get a glimpse into their personal lives. Some athletes are still coming down from the high of the Super Bowl while others are already putting in endless training hours before pre-season kicks off. Hookit analyzed the top 10 NFL players with the most social media interactions in the month of June. No movement among the top 2 with Patriots quarterback Tom Brady coming in at #1 with 6.1M interactions and Julian Edelman coming in at #2 with 2.7M interactions. Jarvis Landry rounded out the top 3 with 968.3K interactions.

Tom Brady Does it All

Powerhouse Tom Brady is sitting in spot number one yet again. Even though his number of social interactions decreased by 2M since the month of May, the six-time Super Bowl Champion still drove 6.1M interactions in June. He started the month off with an Instagram post about Best Buddies, a non-profit organization dedicated to creating opportunities for people with intellectual and developmental disabilities. After helping at the 20th annual Best Buddies Football Challenge, Brady uploaded a few heartwarming photos to his Instagram.

With the Super Bowl win still fresh in his mind, TB12 posted a photo of his 6 World Champion Super Bowl rings with the caption, “Do you know which ring is my favorite? The Next One!” This got fans excited for the upcoming season and contributed to his social media engagements this month.

Of course, Brady has been training in his offtime. This video he posted on Instagram got 893K views and assures his followers that there is no rest for the best and he will be ready come pre-season in August.

Julian Edelman Stays Focused

With 2.7M interactions in the month of June, Julian Edelman posted quality content for his fans. 2.5M of those interactions came from Instagram alone and one specific video he posted racked up 665K views. The video is a Father’s Day post that shows Edelman’s father helping him train. It looks like the wide receiver is ready for whatever comes at him this season and he’ll have his dad there supporting him every step of the way.

Juggling Jarvis Landry

Jarvis Landry jumped up two rankings and received 241K more interactions than he did in May. He is now in third place with 968.3K interactions across 61 posts in the month of June. The Cleveland Browns wide receiver posted with friends and family but most of his posts this June were football related. It looks like Landry is juggling his work and social life perfectly and his fans love seeing it.

The Wrap Up

The NFL athletes had lower engagement numbers in June because no football related events took place, so this is to be expected. With this being said, the players posted about their personal lives and by the looks of it, their followers loved it. Analyzing the top-ranked NFL players based on social media interactions allows brands to create valuable insights when looking for new partners. Utilizing an athlete’s social media platform connects brands to their target audience on a large scale. Though these NFL athletes are not in season, I’m sure their current sponsors are happy that they are staying active through social media.
