Zumbro 100 Mile Endurance Run and Kettle 100 Mile Endurance Run both went well. Sock Guy socks (and my feet) held up well despite all the mud and rain. Rudy Project photochromic clear lenses are awesome for running all day and night. http://www.hookit.com/members/cedarboat/blog.aspx?euid=b467b2dd-030f-4f2c-b9fb-ec8ea8526bbb Tue, 08 Jun 2010 09:04:58 GMT Running Zumbro 100 miler this friday, . . can't wa... Ran the Northwoods Snoeshoe Marathon on Saturday. Whooieee, . . tough race. Lots of hills and deep snow. Ran the Whitetail Ridge Snowshoe 1/2 Marathon on Saturday. What fun! It was a hilly singletrack course with 16 runners toeing the line for the start of the 1/2 marathon. Starting temp was a sunny -1 and with little wind it felt great. Got in 7 miles this morning to loosen up some sore muscles. A full complement of mid-week training and then off to the Northwoods Snowshoe Marathon this weekend. http://www.hookit.com/members/cedarboat/blog.aspx?euid=39d8a8e2-ecae-48de-b85e-9f6f02106560 Mon, 11 Jan 2010 11:03:16 GMT Been sick for the last week, . . bummer. Back running again finally - 8 miles yesterday felt good. http://www.hookit.com/members/cedarboat/blog.aspx?euid=09c3b3ec-d7dd-4258-a118-313c1034877c Thu, 07 Jan 2010 06:33:29 GMT Routine training runs lately, 8 miles Monday, 8 mi... Routine training runs lately, 8 miles Monday, 8 miles Tuesday, 9 miles Christmas Eve. If the weather is bad Christmas, I will get in a long run instead of driving to relatives. Lots of snow on the way so snowshoe running will improve soon. http://www.hookit.com/members/cedarboat/blog.aspx?euid=70cdcda6-3e30-4220-b299-c50d52bb3d35 Thu, 24 Dec 2009 11:23:19 GMT It's that time when there's not quite enough snow ... It's that time when there's not quite enough snow for good snowshoe running and yet there's enough to make running without snowshoes uncomfortable. The snowmobile trails aren't being groomed so they're not really too run-able either. This leave me to the streets for most of my training. Last year at this time we already had about 3 feet of snow. More precip is on the way this week so I'm hopeful the trails will improve.

Ran 8 miles today on the snow covered streets. It was a comfortable +16 deg with light snow falling.

Ran 7 miles on Saturday on snowshoes. It was a comfortable +9 deg when I started out. The rocky single track beat up my snowshoes a little. Nobody had been out yet so I got a little lost on a trail that I use dozens of times each year. Funny how everything changes with a blanket of white. It took about 15 minutes to recapture the trail. Guess that's one reason I carry matches, an emergency blanket and a locator beacon when I'm out in th http://www.hookit.com/members/cedarboat/blog.aspx?euid=708cf0c4-0860-4cca-aecf-45ab468999c1 Mon, 21 Dec 2009 13:36:50 GMT After a month off to heal some nagging injuries fr... After a month off to heal some nagging injuries from the 2009 season, I'm now prepping for 2010. I'm going to participate in the Upper Midwest Trail Runner's Gnarly Bandit Series which includes four 100 mile races (Zumbro, Kettle, Lean Horse and Superior Sawtooth) and an option for a 100K to top it off in November.

I'll test my fitness in March at the 3 Days of Syllamo stage race (50K, 50M, 20K). This will be my fourth consecutive year at 3 Day. This is one of the best events I attend each year. If you can join me at this event you should. Running in the Ozark Mountain's Sylamore District is fantastic. http://www.hookit.com/members/cedarboat/blog.aspx?euid=eb74cd64-0c2d-481f-85e0-152ee62be1de Mon, 14 Dec 2009 16:05:25 GMT
