REAL MADRID superstar Cristiano Ronaldo is set to make a staggering £800million with Nike by just posting through his social media.

The four-time Ballon d'Or winner generated over £422million for the sports company in 2016 just by posting to his Twitter, Facebook and Instagram accounts.

The website tracks professional athlete's accounts and monitors the interactions their posts get with fans - of which the 32-year-old has 260million across his three platforms.

In 347 of his uploads, Nike either had their logo visible or were mentioned specifically, which led to 477 million interaction with his top post of the year netting Nike a whopping £4.6million in media value.

It might have been a fantastic year for Ronaldo who clinched the Champions League as well as the European Championship with Portugal, but Nike had a dreadful year by their standards.

The company was the worst-performing Dow 30 stock, and fell 19% after tripling their value over the previous five years.

But the £422million estimated by Hookit what the former Manchester United hitman generated was calculated by looking at the number of interactions his posts had, market-driven rates and the type of promotion he shared on his accounts.

It's been another impressive in front of goal for Ronaldo, he has struck 24 times in 36 games - 14 in 16 in La Liga, where his goals have helped Los Blancos sit pretty at the top, one point clear of Barcelona with two games in hand.
