Background

I started racing in the Ferrari Challenge series in 2001 and quickly gained momentum, winning the 2002 SCCA Central Division Championship in T1. I formed Blackdog Racing and started racing full time in the Pirelli World Challenge Series (formally SPEED GT) in 2003 and haven’t looked back since.

Highlights

Member of the 2013 Pirelli World Challenge GTS CHAMPION team – Blackdog Speed Shop. Achieved 8 Top-10 finishes and 8th in the championship during the 2012 season in Pirelli World Challenge GT Class. In 2011, finished a career best 6th overall in GT Driver’s Championship on the strength of 11 Top-10 finishes. In 2010, started 12 races with nine Top-10 finishes and finishing 8th overall. In 2009, finished 7th overall in the GT Championship. Had seven Top-10 finishes, with a best of fourth at Sebring. Earned Sunoco Hard Charger of the Year award. In 2008, earned four Top-10 results driving a Blackdog Racing Chevrolet Corvette en route to finishing 9th in the SPEED GT Drivers’ Championship. Collected three top-10 finishes 2007 driving a Blackdog Racing Corvette. Best finish was seventh at Lowe’s Motor Speedway. Entered seven SPEED GT races in 2006, earning two Top-10 finishes. Had a career year in 2005, finishing a personal-best second at Infineoon. Six Top-10 finishes to finish eighth in the SPEED GT Drivers’ Championship - the first time to finish in the top 10. In 2004, ran 3 SPEED GT events, with best finish (11th) coming at Mid-Ohio. In 2003, ran my first full season of SPEED GT and recorded one top-10 finish in season finale in Puerto Rico. Finished third in Rookie of the Year points. Won the 2002 SCCA Central Division Championship in T1. Ran two SPEED GT races in a Corvette Z06, with a season-best finish of 16th at Road America in 2002. Ran Ferrari Challenge in 2001.

Goals

For this year we've made a switch from World Challenge GT to GTS and will be running TWO Chevy Camaros that are currently in production at Blackdog Speed Shop. We're extremely excited to welcome Lawson Aschenbach aboard as our second driver. 2006 winning the SPEED World Challenge GT Series in his rookie year, Grand-Am Continental Tire Sports Car Challenge ST Championship in 2010, won the Pirelli World Challenge TC Series in 2011 and finished 4th in the GT Class last year.
