If Shawn is not riding he prefers to spend his time shooting, camping, boating and other outdoor activities to keep him busy. He spends the off season at the local track (IMI), training and improving on his skills in the search to progress his riding in his first novice season. Training isn’t always done on 2 wheels. Yoga and cardio, with a focus on core and legs fill up the hours of the day, 2 times a day, everyday. 2010 was his first time stepping on a racetrack, not as a rider though! 2010 was spent as a corner marshal helping keep riders safe. 2011 was his breakout season, riding in the MRA’s SuperStreet class. After numerous of personal achievements and 2 years of multiple top 10 finishes, 2013 was when Shawn decided to get his race license and compete for points in his rookie year. Shawn is also active in the motorcycle community as a active member with the largest sportbike club in Colorado; Colorado Sportbike Club; www.cosportbikeclub.org. Shawn also helps the MRA promoting their SuperStreet progam by handing out brochures to local riders that are interested in racing. It helps keep the riders that have that “Need for Speed,’ off the streets so they can utilize it on the track.
