Overview

How I got started

I started riding motorcycles when i was about 9 years old. After a brief lapse during college, i picked up a street bike and never looked back. I started doing some local trackdays, and after a few years decided to give racing a try. I had raced MTN bikes for a little while during my college years and missed the competition. (I also played rugby for 18 years and had just retired from that sport)

Goals for the Future

To run my second year as an Expert class in the entire WERA Northeast Regional series as well as the eastern National events. I am shooting for regional championships in my 5 classes. With strong finishes in 2007, I'd like to run the AMA Pro Formula Extreme round at Mid-Ohio in 2008.  I plan to run a few NASMOTO supermoto events also.  A few fellow racers are in the middle of putting together a plan to run the east coast MOTO-ST races.  We will be racing a Ducati Paul Smart 1000 in the GST class.

I have been a Control Rider for NESBA, a national track day club, for a few years and i usually attend events that don't conflict with the race schedule.  You will probably find me at BeaveRun and Nelson Ledges!

Competitive Highlights

In 2005 I competed in the very competitive WERA Northeast region as a Novice. I finished in the top 5 in all 3 classes i raced in (LWTSS, LWTSB, and F2) . I won 4 races last year. Not bad for a first year racer. I competed at the AMA Grand Nationals at Mid-Ohio and finished 2nd in the LWT Solo and a 3rd in LWT SS. In SupermotardUSA i finished as the MidAtlantic regional champion in the Novice class.

For 2006 i again was racing as a Novice in the WERA Northeast and MidAtlantic regions. I finished up the season winning Championships in all three contested classes (LWT SS, LWT SB, and Formula 2) in the Northeast. I also won the Championships for LWT SS and Formula 2 in the MidAtlantic region. My season ended with the AMA RoadRace Grand Championships at Mid-Ohio. I won both Lightweight Twins Superstock and Superbike National Championships. I finished 4th in Formula Lightweight behind some very tough USGPRU 125 class champions.

2007 was my first year racing as an Expert.  I raced a new Triumph 675 for European Motorcycles of Pittsburgh in addition to my SV650.  I ran the full Northeast region and the National at Summit Point.  I was happy to finish the season with one Expert win and 23 podiums.  I nearly missed winning a Regional Championship in LWT SB.  I finished in the top 3 in all 5 classes that i raced in this year.  The highlight was two strong 2nd place finishes on the Triumph 675 at the AMA RRGC' s at Mid-Ohio.  I ran laptimes that would have had me qualify for the AMA Formula Extreme round that is held there.  That's my goal for 2008.
