I started out riding down stairs and jumping over small gaps with a BMX bike. Then I bought a bike from walmart with a front suspension fork. After thrashing 4 different bikes, my neighbor told me to get a real bike. I started riding xc trails and got faster and faster. My first shot at downhill was at Northstar and it was a blast. Then I went to whistler and rode hard there too. Going back to Northstar, I started timing myself and found that I could easily qualify for the top 5 spots. So I decided that I wanted to compete. This will be my first year competing because It has taken a lot to receive the support from anyone. Everyone thinks it's a dangerous sport and fear for my safety. I ride safe but fast and am only going to get better.
