Started snowboarding during the 1993-1994 season on a directional K2 snowboard. I was hooked and the next year bought a Signature Jon Boyer Barfoot, and began commuting to Tahoe regularly to ride. In 2011, I made the decision at 32 years old to relocate to South Lake Tahoe to ride more.
In addition to riding and regularly photographing pros, and aspiring amateurs, my 8 year old daughter joined Heavenly's Foundation snowboarding team, and will be competing in local events.
My photographs have been used in advertisements and publications for ESPN, Osiris Shoes, Fat BMX, Woodward, Heavenly Resort, Fluid Recovery and more.
Just two days ago I rode with and photographed a 686 team rider.
I work at ride at Heavenly in South Lake Tahoe. Last year I shot photos for Heavenly, and after receiving a promotion to Base Operation Supervisor this year, I continue to shoot for clients, and interact with 500-1000 riders a day, in addition to employees. Spy Optics is not sold through Vail owned sport specialty stores, however over the past year I have still managed to introduce athletes to Spy goggles and sun glasses, and have convinced many locals and employees to purchase Spy products from local board shops, such as Shoreline Tahoe, even when it means foregoing their discounted rates from our mountain owned shops.
My goals is to continue to give my clients the best product possible in the form of their photos, and to enjoy watching my daughter's introduction to competitive snowboarding.
