Background
I have been involved in mountain biking for almost 20 years. I built up my first bike from a frame and scavenged parts and not a day has gone by since that I haven't had a bike within reach.
My racing career started in Vail, CO back in the late 90's, but I found that my true calling at the time was behind a wrench rather than a number plate. So, the next season, I volunteered with every company I could, wrenching around the country, until I landed a job at Shimano in 1998. A few years, and a few hundred-thousand miles of driving later, I decided to leave Shimano to attend college. I kept up with the sport by working in various bike shops in Colorado before getting a real job in Geographic Information Systems.
Fast forward to 2010, when I tried my first 24 Hour race in Santa Ynez, CA as half of a Men's Duo team, finishing 2nd! After that, I was hooked on endurance racing and seeing how far I could push myself.
So far, my riding has seen improvement in every race, and this year I have set some pretty hefty goals...mainly to win something!
