Mountain biking isn't just a sport, its become my life. For the past weekend, everyday has been taken up by biking: Both downhill, freeride, and cross-country. Every penny I could get I spent on bikes. Locally I have become a source of bike advice and the very local skills teacher. I recently joined my high school cross-country mountain bike team and am having a lot of fun competing. I love going to my local bike parks as well as whistler. I love going fast and learning new tricks.
Although I haven't raced that much, I am planning to. In my XC races, I have placed 11/70 and 15/62. I was the only one to finish in the top 13 who rode a full suspension 26er. Everyone else in the race was riding a carbon hardtail 29er. Locally I teach kids how to ride so that could be seen as a highlight. Another semi highlight was last year I raced sea otter downhill and placed 29/60. The reason of this though was that my chain dropped out of the starting gate and I crashed once.
My goals for next year is to race as much as possible, and ride nationally instead of regionally.
