Growing up in Vermont I was immediately placed in a setting that was perfect for endurance sports. Spending many hours running, biking, swimming and cross country skiing during my childhood and now into my adult life has been a huge part of my life and something that I consider to be a gift.
I'm attending Bates College in Maine where I have continued my career in endurance sports. I'm an English major and have a passion for non-profit marketing and development, particularly with environmental NGO's.

Background
I was introduced to triathlon by a family friend who has competed at many levels for years. He along with a few of his teammates helped me learn the basics of how to combine the three disciplines, two of which, swimming and running, I had competed in before. After this first summer when I was 14 I fell in love with the sport. I have balanced it with another love of mine, nordic skiing, however triathlon has become an addiction that craves all of my attention.
Highlights
Highlights of my triathlon career include:
3rd in age group Lobsterman Triathlon (2011)
1st in age group Vermont Sun Sprint Triathlon (2011)
3rd in my age group at the Lobsterman Triathlon (2008)
1st in age group Vermont Sun Sprint Triathlon (2009)
1st in my age group at the Lobsterman Triathlon (2008)
Goals
My goals for this year are to win my age group at the Lobsterman Triathlon in Bruswick, Maine, to qualify for USAT Age Group Nationals in Burlington, Vermont, and to be top three in my age group at Ironman 70.3 Rhode Island.
