I grew up in the SF Bay Area and started riding motorcycles in the mid 70's. My first motorcycle was a Yamaha RD350 and I was soon spending much time in the foothills of the Peninsula refining my riding skills on famed roads like hiways 35, 84, 9, and the many smaller narrow roads which scenicly wound through the many redwood trees.
Started racing with the American Federation of Motorcyclists in 1981 and experienced my first AMA professional race in 1984 at Sears Point aboard a TZ250J. I was running 4th behind Wayne Rainey before experiencing a heartbreaking mechanical with 2 laps to go, but the bug had bit and I raced club and AMA races until 1989.
Along the way, I captured several class championships in the AFM riding TZ125's and TZ250's as well as a top 10 plate. I was also fortunate to be amongst those who competed in the first MotoGP which was brought back to the United States in 1988 at the famed Laguna Seca Raceway in scenic Monterey, California.
I retired from racing in 1989 to raise a family with my beautiful wife Robyn whom I dated in high school (77-80). I am also the proud father of 2 fantastic children, Zack and Alyssa.
I have returned to racing in 2011 and surprisingly did not ride a motorcycle the entire 21 year hiatus from a sport I love. During my return season, I found that I truly did miss the sport and the community of motorsports enthusiasts and in 2012 the goals are to compete in not only club racing, but at the age of 50, hopefully be able to competitively race at least 1 round of the AMA 600 Supersport series if not more races should financial sponsors arise.
2012 also has on the schedule for us to compete in flat track events in California as well as some Enduro events. There is also a possibility that we will be able to confirm several appearances in the Legends car series!
We thank you for taking the time to visit my page and hope that we can count you as a fan of KazMan Racing and Eric "KazMan" Kondo.

Since 2012 - About Once Per Month
I have never participated in a sanctioned event prior to last October when I was invited to compete at Lodi Cycle Bowl. I enjoyed myself immensely and have added dirt tracking to my schedule for 2012 for training and fun.
