My name is John Anderson, I am from Arvada Colorado where I have lived most my life. I am 24 years old. I have a college degree in Electrical Construction and I am currently working as an estimator and project manager for a large electrical contractor. I also have my own small bicycle shop that I run out of my garage. I am not just a rider I have been very involved in the motocross and bicycle community in Colorado for many years and I have loved it. I have had the opportunity to meet some awesome people and some epic racers such as BMX Olympian David Herman who's home track has been the same as mine since we were kids, as well as Derek Anderson an awesome privateer who I raced BMX with as a kid and rode at his grandpa's MX track almost everyday after school.
I started out racing BMX at 6 years old. I have been Colorado State Champion several times and have won ABA and NBL National races. My most recent BMX accomplishment was 2010 State Champion in the 21-25 cruiser class. I have also raced Downhill and Mountain Cross for a few years while also racing BMX. I started ridding motorcycles at a very young age as well on a Honda ATC 70 3 Wheeler, but I did not compete in motocross until I was 12 years old. From 12-18 I raced RMXA, SRAC and AMA District 25 races. I was very competitive locally in the mini classes even qualifying for Ponca City twice. Once I moved up to big bikes I was riddled with injuries for about 2 1/2 years straight. At that point I stopped racing motocross and went back to BMX. I still rode motocross but did not race.
I have not raced motocross in about 5 years but I feel I am more mature, stronger and ready to go back to motocross. I recently raced the 2013 Denver Amsoil Arenacross. It was my first race in 5 years and I had only ridden my 2013 KX250F twice. I took 6th in the lites novice class and 10th in the 450 class on my 250F.
I plan on racing the first few races of 2013 in the C class and quickly moving up to the B class. I am taking this season more serious than I have any other. I have a practice and race bike for this season and I am training harder than ever. I will continue to race BMX when my motocross schedule permits competing in local Pro/AM races and ABA Nationals.
I don't plan on being the next Ricky Carmichael or even racing Supercross or a Pro National but I love ridding and racing motocross and plan on doing it for many years to come. I would like to receive a Pro license within the next 3 years.
I am also very ambitious to be successful in my career and my business, fortunately my job is very flexible and allows me to take off for races if needed or take off early to hit the track for practice during the week. I work very hard to make a comfortable living and be able to spend way to much money on my racing addiction. When the weather is good I ride my dirt bike 3-4 days a week and when I am not on that I am on my bicycle or training. I am very dedicated for an amateur racer and I put a lot of time, money and hard work into racing because I love competition and winning. Any support for the 2013 Motocross and BMX season would be very appreciated.
My Ridding Style: I think I have good ridding style on my dirt bike and bicycle, I use influences from both types of ridding and incorporate them into my style. I try to be very relaxed and in control. Life Style: I try to maintain a healthy and r
