My name is Jake Spillers. I am well known as a knowledgeable, friendly, hard working, equanimity, and determined person. I am a focused leader and high honors student at Overlook Middle School in Ashburnham Massachusetts where I enjoys math and science and sports including biking, skiing, travel soccer, and cross country. I consider myself to be one of the most determined, fastest and upcoming drivers in motorsports you will ever meet. And hopefully a future driver in one of the main NASCAR touring series.
I started my racing career at six years old and ever since I have been hooked. Starting up in go-karts I won many races. Then I began racing minicups in the Seekonk Youth Racing Association (SYRA) 600 division at Seekonk Speedway in 2007. Although it was my first year in minicups I did very well with one win and a 2nd place finish at the prestigious DAV Memorial Fall Classic. By the second year, at age 12, I blew everyone away with my victories. I had won one feature at Seekonk, two at Hudson Speedway, and placing in the top three every race with 15+ car fields. Furthermore, I proudly won the 2008 championship in my second year of racing minicups setting the record for the youngest to win the SYRA 600 Championship. I was only 12 years old!
During my third year in Minicups racing for Jeff Mercure (Mercure Motorsports) in the SYRA 750 division racing with drivers up to 18 years old. I had another outstanding year. I had one win at Seekonk along with two victories at Hudson Speedway. I worked hard on the car and I was determined to win every time. Through some bad crashes I kept the car running straight to the 2009 SYRA 750 championship! It was my second year in a row winning, breaking more Seekonk Speedway records. I am youngest and second to win the 600 and 750 championships back to back. Plus, the youngest to win the SYRA 750 championship.
Turning 14 in April, 2010 I will be racing a full season with a two car legend car team. I will be racing at the Waterford Speedbowl in two separate point’s standings on Wednesdays and Saturdays. Jake will be running for Mercure Motorsports but will also keep the name of Jake Spillers Racing. I will also attempt to run multiple races at Lowe’s (Charlotte) and Atlanta Motor Speedway depending on sponsorship. I am always looking for sponsorship opportunities and driver development opportunities.
