Performance winning attitude is certainly not something that can be limited to the race course; with over 10 years of international competitive experience as an elite level gymnast I am no stranger to the fact that everything said and done as an athlete "on stage" is a representation of my sponsors (or country). I plan to represent the bran both on and off the race stage in a fun and professional manner. Having been able to learn to ride and hone my skills in the Whistler bike Park, I took to downhill Racing for the first year in 2008. Since then I have been focused on improving my riding year round in Whistler, Pemberton, Squamish and Vancouver's North Shore. The "Sea to Sky" corridor has some of the world's best and most difficult terrain, that compbined with a group of strong fellow riders has helped me improve my riding and race times.
My 2010 race season focuses on the Canada Cup Series with the intent to obtain enough UCI ponits to qualify for a World cup Entry. In addition I will participate in several events at Crankworx for the third year running; I have high expectations with regards to my goals at each event through the course of the race season. As this schedule permits, I will race in any other local events available to me, along with the weekly races held in the Whistler Bike Park.
I am a true bike enthusiast and my dedication to riding and racing is infectious! I enjoy helping newcomers to the sport reach their riding goals; most of which has been with younger girls and women- which of course is particularly satisfying having had guys as most of my riding piers.
I enjoy writing blog style race repost covering my experiences on bike trips and at race events, and I am looking forward to continuing to take photos and helmet cam footage with local photographer friends.
At home in Pemberton, riding is our lives! The satisfaction of riding all year round and competing is the major factor in my dedication to the sport; simply put it is a way of life! If I have to hike through a few kilometers of snow just to get some laps in during the winter season, then that's just what I'll do. My drive to accomplish personal goals for the 2010 season is not dependant on support; however with that said, I have learned the value of support from my product sponsors. Combining fun and professionalism, i will continue to demonstrate what it takes to be competitive in my field. I aim to bring value as an ambassador for products I believe in.
