Evo of Doom @ Pueblo Motorsports Park (PMP) w NASA June 17 2013 (front bumper cover cam) -
This is a video from a GoPro camera mounted on the front bumper cover of the car while I do a few laps around the road course at PMP in Pueblo, Colorado. I have a passenger on board, so I'm not driving in full "time attack" mode. NASA Time Trials rules dictate that when taking a passenger, you drive at about 80%, and they monitor your lap times to ensure you're not driving to the limit compared to your previous fastest laps... that's why you hear me short-shift into 5th at the end of the front straight, and back off from WOT on the rear straight as well.
My best time this day (on Hoosier A6s) was a 1:35.973, a new NASA TT1 track record for Pueblo. Chris Mayfield, driver of the red E36 BMW ahead of me at the beginning of the video, was over a second faster than me with a 1:34.830 (on fresh BFG R1S), also a new NASA track record, but for TT3... a class two levels below mine! That guy is an incredible driver.
The turbocharger you hear so prominently spooling is the CBRD BBK-B, a ball-bearing upgraded, much larger version of OEM Mitsubishi turbo (stock frame turbo). The Evo of Doom runs on E85 and between 24 and 28 psi at the track, depending on how hot it is, and how much I want to try to improve my lap times by a tenth or two. :)
