Dainese, an Italian company, was founded in 1972 by its current President, Lino Dainese. Since its inception, the company's history has been intertwined with that of riders who have made motorcycling history: from Giacomo Agostini, Barry Sheene, Freddy Spencer to Kenny Roberts and Kevin Schwantz. Starting from 1995 the protective technologies developed by Dainese have been applied to different sports: ski, snowboard, BMX, mountain biking and recently horse riding too, always pursuing the company’s mission: “providing people with head-to-toe protection in dynamic sports”. This is the mission of Dainese, the Italian company that is a leader in world of protective clothing and gear for motorcycle riders and action sports in general. When Lino Dainese creates the company in 1972 in Molvena, Italy, our activities started with the production of leather pants for motocross. In 1992 Dainese enters the world of mountain-bike with downhill rider Philippe Perakis who uses protections developed for motorcycle use on a bicycle for the first time. In 1994 Dainese opens its MTB/Action Sports R&D lab. In 1999, Nicolas Vouilloz is the world’s Downhill champion; this is the first time a Dainese athlete wins the cycling title. Nicola won 11 World Titles.
