Onboard video from Mugello, Italy

A thousand “Thanks” once again to the guys at Tachyon for supplying team RocketJockey with the Tachyon XC 2010 (best extreme cam on the market).

After a dissapointing weekend during the previous ESC round at Hockenheim, we were very much looking forward to a better showing at Mugello. The weather conditions were a little chilly but the sun shown all weekend with blue skies and a few white clouds sprinkled in for good measure.

Mugello was everything I imagined it would be. No matter how many times you play MotoGP on playstation, the game just doesn't compare to the real thing! The track is located within the hills of Tuscany Italy. The town which is just outside the gates is filled with authentic Italian restaurants and flair.

The weekend was off to a good start after discovering some of my closest rivals in the championship failed to even qualify for the GP2 race! So all I had to do was finish to boost my standings back to 5th place. Unfortunately that is not the way it went. Watch on...

The weather conditions were beautiful all weekend at the Hungarian circuit. Although Pannonia Ring does not host world-class events as other circuits on the ESC calendar, Pannonia Ring surely was among the highest caliber tracks I’ve ridden. The facilities were immaculately clean and well maintained. The paddock offered hotel and fine dining only meters from your pit box entrance. The circuit offered WiFi access throughout the paddock, hotel and dining facilities. The paddock also houses a number parts shops (both used and new) as well as a Ducati dealership, complete with Desmodici in the showroom.

The first race of the weekend was a combined GP1 (inline 1000cc) & GP2 (everything else). The race was very eventful from the start. Getting gridded with the liter bikes was fun and frustrating at the same time. We were able to keep up with most of the V-twins and 750s in our GP2 class this weekend. Unfortunately with 3 off-track excursions it was difficult to maintain any momentum during the race. All things said and done we were able to finish 7th and collect a number of points toward our top 5 finish in the championships.

The weather conditions started out similar to our Magny Cours round. Luckily it was just Friday qualifying practices that were affected. First race of the weekend was GP2. The race consisted of everything except 1000cc in-line fours. So you'll see my 600 dicing it up with Ducati 1098s and GSXR750s! Not to worry the RocketJockey 600RR lived up to its name sake and was a rocket off the line!!! We could only muster a 32nd qualifying spot on the grid but were able to jump to 12th by the end of lap one!!!

Thanks for accepting. Dude, I'm so jealous, just watched your videos good stuff, wish I could race over there (have actually dreamed it). The tracks look so wide with plenty of room to pass and pretty smooth compared to what I ride on over here. Keep the videos coming, good stuff and yes that was an excellent launch. Best of luck to ya. Remember keep the sticky side down.
